I recall seeing vintage-style images start to appear on my Facebook feed a few years back. They came from only one of my friends at first, then two or three. Then, seemingly overnight, everyone was posting these vintage-looking images. The Instagram Boom was what I had just witnessed. Instagram is now so widely used that it’s commonly assumed that if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you also have an Instagram account. What would you do if Instagram didn’t exist? Just send your social media friends un-doctored phone-tography? Eugh! Instagram is, therefore, here to stay. Maybe you’ve been using it for a long time, and you’re even a seasoned pro! But that won’t help you if you forget your Instagram username or password.
Fortunately, there is a simple workaround. So stay with me and I’ll show you how to recover your Instagram username and password if you forget them.

What exactly is Instagram?
The hard thing about social networking sites and services is that they allow you to keep your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the world. However, because social media is now practically omnipresent, not having one leaves you out of a lot of the cultural dialogue. So it’s not a question of “take it or leave it,” but rather of “if you’re not in, you’re out.” In the freezing cold. During a blizzard, to be precise. There was also a flood. And then there’s the Apocalypse.
To stay current, you’ll almost certainly need a large social media presence (which includes various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). And, God forbid, you should be unsure how to use these numerous services (or, for that matter, even ask what they are), then woe betide you, friend!
We at Appamatix, on the other hand, aren’t that harsh. So, if you’re not familiar with Instagram, here’s a quick rundown of what it’s all about.
There have previously been a slew of photo-sharing apps and services (Flickr, PhotoBucket, and so on). However, Instagram is unique in that it not only allows you to share images, but it also allows you to make them. And if you’re thinking about it, My phone, on the other hand, has a built-in camera. Everything has a built-in camera. My Cheerios, too! Why should it matter that I can use Instagram to shoot photos? Not only can you take and share photos on Instagram, but you can also edit them, applying a variety of “filters” to your photos that completely change their aesthetics and can really help you communicate not just the content of the image, but also the thoughts and feelings the image (and the experience it contains) evokes in you.
In addition, images shot with Instagram are automatically cropped to a square shape, which distinguishes them from the standard 4:3 aspect ratio found in most smartphone photos
Instagram has grown in popularity to the point where it now has dedicated apps for most of the main mobile platforms, including iOS (iPhone), Android, and even Windows Phone!

One Quick Piece of Advice:
Before we begin, I’d like to provide one quick tip that applies to all of the strategies that follow. Using numerous platforms is one of the most common reasons for losing your password or username. You’ll most likely want to be logged in on your computer, phone, iPad, Cheerios, and everything else you have access to. Let’s say you’re using your tablet for the first time and you can’t remember your password. This happens frequently because our electronics are usually rather good at remembering things for us. (Fun Quiz: Can you recall how many of your friends’ phone numbers off the top of your head?) So if you’ve been Instagramming for a few years on your phone and want to log in on your tablet, you could not remember anything.
If you forget your password, you’ll still need the suggestions below, but if it’s only your username that’s tripping you up, you can find it at the top of your profile page.
That should save a few of you some time and aggravation. (Not that any of the steps below will give you a headache.
What Should You Do If You Forget Your Instagram Username or Password Online?
Let’s start with the most basic, most fundamental of all* social networking services: the website.
(*Of course, as time goes on, more and more social networking services will just have an app, with no way to access or utilize your account on a computer.) Snapchat, Kik, Viber, the list of social apps that are merely apps is getting longer and longer. Fortunately, we at Appamatix have detailed instructions on how to use these from your computer if you so desire.)
Because Instagram is so popular and so profitable right now, they’re not going to turn away users or lock you out of your account for good if you forget your password. So, if you forget your Instagram password or username, you can utilize the website to recover it.
Go to Instagram’s official website.
If you haven’t logged in before, you’ll most likely be directed to a website where you can either download the app or establish a new account. (I got this page from a desktop computer as well, so it’s not a case of the dreaded mobile redirect.) If this is the case, simply click the “Login” button.
If you forget your password, there will be a link on the Login page to click. If you forget your Username, there is no link, but trust me, you may use the same URL.
The Password Reset page appears to be very normal. Of course, you might be thinking, “I don’t need a new password; I just need my Username remembered.” Without my Username, how can I use this page? You will, however, see that you can input either your username or your email address. Simply input the email address you used to create your account, as well as any other information requested by the site, and you’re in like Flint!

What Should You Do If You Forget Your Instagram Password or Username on a Windows Phone?
The user interface for a Windows Phone is unlike that of an Android or iPhone in that you only have one home screen (which you scroll through instead of flipping through numerous screens) and that not all of your apps (just those you’ve pinned to your home screen) will appear on it. If you can’t locate Instagram on your home screen (and don’t forget, you can change the size of each icon; I like to make the items I use most regularly have larger icons), swipe to the left and you’ll get a list of all your apps, ordered alphabetically. Find Instagram using whichever method you like and tap to open it.

What Should You Do If You Forget Your Instagram Password or Username on Other Phones or Devices?
Unfortunately, Instagram has yet to create official apps for other popular phones such as Blackberry and Nokia-Symbian (separate from the Nokia Windows devices). There are, however, a number of third-party programs that will let you access your Instagram accounts from each of them. Of course, I can’t vouch for each third-party app’s process, but you can always go to the Instagram website and follow the steps outlined in “What to Do if You Forgot Your Instagram Username or Password Online” above.
Conclusion:
Did any of the methods suggested above help you? Is there anything else you’ve tried that works better? this method will definately help ypu to get rid out of it.
