How to Hide Whatsapp Chats Without Archive on iPhone & Android
If you would like to hide your WhatsApp chats but at the same time don’t want to archive them, here’s how you can do it on both iOS and Android devices.
iPhone
- Hide the conversation: Swipe the conversation to the left and select either “More” or “Delete” to hide it. This process can be completed with multiple conversations at once by using the “Select” feature.
- Hide the profile photo: Go to “Settings”, select “Privacy”, and then change “Profile Photo” to “My Contacts”.
- Disable notifications: Go to “Settings”, select “Notifications”, and then “Disable for a Specific Contact”.
Android
- Hide the conversation: Swipe the conversation to the right and select either “More” or “Delete” to hide it. This process can be completed with multiple conversations at once by using the “Select” feature.
- Hide the profile photo: Go to “Settings”, select “Account”, and then change “Profile Photo” to “My Contacts”.
- Disable notifications: Go to “Settings”, select “Notifications”, and then “Disable for a Specific Contact”.
It’s important to note that both of these methods will hide the chat from your messaging center, but your contacts will still be able to send messages to you. If you want to completely hide the conversation, you will need to archive it instead.
