If you want to see other people’s stories, whom you don’t follow, then you can simply open their profile and tap on their profile to view their story. But this can only be done with users whose account is not private and open to the public.

Once you view stories from the top of your feed, then it automatically scrolls from one person to the next. You can tap the screen to skip to the next photo or video, or swipe right or left to skip between people’s stories. You can simply swipe down on the screen to exit their story and return to Feed.

Alternatively you could use Instagram story viewer application that lets you to browse stories shared by any Instagram user. This can be done by browser as the application is hosted in secured server.

3. To view the story on the web:

On the web, you can go to Intsagram.com, and stories appear at the top of Feed if you use your mobile while it appears on the right of Feed if you use desktop. Just tap or click on any story to view it. You can swipe left to get to the next screen or use arrows if you are using a desktop. Select the ‘x’ in the top right to exit someone’s story and return to feed.

Using the web is similar to that of the app. On the web the same thing can be done to view other user’s stories, the one you don’t follow, then simply tap on their profile and view their story or by any of the above four options to view someone’s story.

But the users should keep in mind that when they view other user’s story then they will be able to tell that you have seen their story.
